margate steps

Descriptions of visitors to Margate during the 19th Century

The New King’s Stairs, Margate Steps. The original stairs lie beneath the new construction protected by a layer of geo-textiles for future archaeologists to discover.

During the demolition and construction phases huge piles of concrete and old harbour wall were seen on the beach.
